The beginning

This is my first post as a blogger so I hope to start off strong. My name is Chris Bell; I am eighteen (soon to be 19); and I am a freshman at the University of Richmond in Virginia. Interestingly enough, I never thought that I would have my own blog. For some reason or another I felt that I would not have anything interesting or better yet, worth while, to say. But, after talking with some friends, very informally, about topics such as politics, technology, music, movies, sports and the general meaning of life (of course), I came to the realization that I too could find something to write about on my very own blog. So it is my intention to bring you guys as many posts about these topics as they come up in my own life.

To start things off, the other night, I saw the movie: Snakes of a Plane. The movie had received mixed reviews from what I have heard. Some reviewers praised it for its pure entertainment value while others called it complete trash. I suppose I remain somewhere in the middle. At times the movie's dialogue is downright pathetic. That and the concept of someone who has played a lot of flight simulators on PlayStation 2 landing the plane, Snakes on a Plane is not supposed to be taken seriously whatsoever. Most stores label it as an "action adventure" movie. If someone is going to enjoy this movie they would need to think of it more as a comedy, making fun of itself. For me at least, it is somewhat funny hearing Samual Jackson fire off continual one liners, but, by its end, I felt that overall the film wasn't neccesarily worth the hour and a half I spent watching it. Although you can now drop lines such as: "I've had it with this these mother f*cking snakes on this mother f*cking plane!", ultimately I think that this movie should definately be rented rather than bought. If I had to decide, I would give this film a 6/6.5 out of 10.

Thus ends my first blog post. I hope it has been enjoyable and I hope you will continue to check out my page on a daily basis as I continue exploring the world of "blogging".
